Our Programs

At MY ROOTS FOUNDATION, our mission comes to life through programs designed to uplift, educate, and empower youths, single mothers, and marginalized communities. Rooted in compassion, opportunity, and empowerment, our initiatives focus on building skills, expanding access to education, and creating pathways toward economic independence—because we believe everyone deserves the chance to grow, thrive, and build a better future.

Women Empowerment Program

The Women Empowerment Program is the heart of our work, designed to equip women and girls with practical skills, knowledge, and personal development tools to help them break the cycle of poverty and dependency. We focus on helping participants build confidence, self-reliance, and long-term stability through three key areas:

Vocational Training
This training provides women and girls with hands-on skills in tailoring and crafts. Participants learn how to design, sew, and produce quality garments and handmade items that can be sold in local markets. The goal is to promote financial independence and create opportunities for entrepreneurship, especially for those who did not complete formal education.
Through our business training sessions, women gain essential knowledge in how to start, manage, and grow a small business. This includes training on financial literacy, record keeping, pricing, marketing, and customer service. Women leave the program with the tools and confidence needed to turn their skills into sustainable income-generating ventures.
This component enhances women’s communication abilities and equips them with essential life skills. Participants improve their English language skills to help with job opportunities and daily interactions, while also building soft skills such as self-confidence, goal setting, conflict resolution, leadership, and decision-making. This part of the program helps participants not only survive but thrive in their personal and professional lives.

Outreach Program

The Outreach Program takes our mission beyond the walls of our center and into the communities that need us most. It is designed to reach marginalized and underserved individuals through direct support, education, advocacy, and humanitarian response. This program is divided into two main focus areas:

Health Promotion and Empowerment
This initiative focuses on improving community health, especially for adolescent girls and women. We conduct educational sessions in schools, community centers, and public spaces to raise awareness on topics such as menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, personal care, and the importance of accessing health services. In addition to education, we distribute reusable sanitary pads to girls and women who cannot afford menstrual products, helping reduce school absenteeism and restore dignity. We also support access to health insurance for vulnerable individuals, ensuring they can receive medical treatment when needed. Through these efforts, we are breaking taboos, promoting body confidence, and improving overall health and wellbeing.
This area of the program addresses gender-based violence, child protection, and emergency support for vulnerable groups. We provide gender advocacy, conduct community sensitization on women’s and children’s rights, and engage local leaders in dialogue to challenge harmful practices and norms. We also offer humanitarian assistance—such as food, clothing, or emotional support—to women and children in critical situations, including survivors of abuse, abandonment, or extreme poverty. Through community visits and response activities, we ensure that no woman or girl is left behind. Together, these two programs form the backbone of Perfect Vision Women Tanzania’s work—helping women and girls rise above hardship and build a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
